Zutaten

  • 1 whole goose (about 5-6 kg)
  • 2 onions
  • 2 apples
  • 1 orange
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp flour

Zubereitung

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Clean and wash the goose, then pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Season the inside and outside of the goose with salt and pepper.
  4. Stuff the goose with quartered onions, apples, and orange.
  5. Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wing tips under the body.
  6. Rub the goose with butter and place it breast side up on a roasting pan.
  7. Roast the goose in the preheated oven for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes with a mixture of red wine and chicken broth.
  8. Once the goose is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
